Victoria Marie, Princess Royal of Germany and Prussia(Victoria Marie Louise Anna Christine Alexandra Charlotte; born 18 June 2004) is the second child and only daughter of Georg Friedrich, King of Prussia and Archduchess Marie Christine of Austria.

Birth Edit

Princess Victoria Marie was born on 18 June 2004 at Hohenzollern Castle, in Bremen, Prussia as the third child and elder daughter of Georg Friedrich, King of Prussia and the third child and only daughter of his Austrian-born first wife, Archduchess Marie Christine of Austria. His father is the eldest child and only son of the late Prince Louis Ferdinand Sr of Prussia and Donata, Countess of Castell-Rüdenhausen. Her mother is the eldest child and daughter of Archduke Carl Christian of Austria and Archduchess Marie Christine of Austria. Her birth was greeted by two 21-gun salutes at Königsberg Her names and title were announced the day after her birth at a cabinet meeting. After the cabinet meeting a thanksgiving service was held to celebrate the birth of the new princess in attendance was her father, her elder brother, her maternal and paternal grandparents, her aunt's and uncle's of both families and some of her cousins.

The Princess and her elder brothers, The Crown Prince and Prince Christian Alexander have seven other siblings from both her parents' second marriages.

From her father's second marriage, she has four half-siblings, three younger brother's and one sister.

Family History Edit

Princess Victoria Marie is a great-great-great-granddaughter of Wilhelm II, German Emperor and she is also a great-granddaughter of Grand Duke Jean of Luxembourg.

She is related to the most of the Royal Houses and families of House of Habsburg-Lorraine (Austria-empire), House of Nassau-Weilburg and House of Bourbon-Parma (Luxembourg), House of Hohenzollern (Germany) and House of Windsor (British).

Just after her father's first birthday, her grandfather was involved in a severe accident during military manoeuvres, where he was pinned between two vehicles. Although his leg was amputated, he succumbed several weeks later to the trauma and died on 11 July 1977. Before the birth of his daughter, Princess Cornelie-Cecile of Prussia, six months later on 30 January 1978.

Princess Victoria Marie was christened at the Chapel of St. Michael in Hohenzollern Castle on 26 August 2001 (her maternal grandfather's 47th birthday).

Education Edit

On 6 July 2009, eight-year-old Princess Victoria Marie like her mother went to a boarding school in the United Kingdom. She finished boarding school on 22 June 2016, after seven years at aged 15.

On 8 August 2016, One month after finishing at boarding school, 15-year-old Princess Victoria Marie started her secondary education in Austria.

The Princess's mother tongue is German, She also speaks French, English and some Luxembourgish.

Royal Duties Edit

Princess Victoria Marie has been in the spotlight since her birth in 2001. The Princess and her younger half-sister, Princess Emma Marie are not in line of succession to succeed the imperial throne because females are barred from ascending or becoming Queen-regnant, unless they are the mother of the heir-apparent if they have to act as regent until the heir reaches the age of Majority.

When the Princess approaches her 16th birthday, On 18 June 2017, She will be allowed to perform official and state duties and can act as Regent of State when her father, The Emperor, her stepmother or her elder brother, The Crown Prince are absent or out of the country until her four younger brother's come of age in 2020, 2031 and 2036.

The Princess has attended the birthday's of her father, The Emperor and her brother, The Crown Prince every year since 2004. The Emperor and The Crown Prince have both been dedicated with a birthday concert which are called Königsday (10 June) and Kronprinz's day (10 October) which the princess attends both concerts.

Royal Functions Edit

On 22 June 2001, four-day-old Princess Victoria Marie was carried out onto the Royal balcony and was introduced to the whole nation by her father, The Emperor, her mother and her two year-old brother, The Crown Prince were also present.

On 7 July 2003, two-year-old princess carried out her first official engagement by opening a new Children's Zoo, in Bad Berleburg, Germany she was accompanied by her parents and her four-year-old brother, Crown Prince Wilhelm Ferdinand.

On 10 June 2006, four-year-old Princess Victoria Marie with her brother's celebrated the 30th birthday of her father, Georg Friedrich, King-Emperor of Prussia by appearing on the balcony and the coach ride through Prussia. There was also a church service to celebrate the birthday of her father, eight days later she celebrated her 5th birthday on 18 June.

On 29 September 2006, She with her mother and her elder brother attended the wedding of her mother's first cousin, Prince Louis of Luxembourg and Miss Tessy Antony.

On 20 October 2012, Princess Victoria Marie with her mother, Stepfather and her elder brother attended the wedding of her mother's first cousin, Guillaume, Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg and Countess Stephanie de Lannoy, later Stéphanie, Hereditary Grand Duchess of Luxembourg.

On 21 September 2013, Princess Victoria Marie with her mother, stepfather and her two brother's attended the wedding of her mother's cousin, Prince Félix of Luxembourg and Miss Claire Lachemader, later, Princess Claire of Luxembourg, she was also one of the bridesmaid's at the wedding.
